Parts of speech are categories that describe the role each word plays in a sentence. Understanding them helps you write and speak clearly.

There are 8 parts of speech in English:


1️⃣ Noun – A word that names a person, place, thing, or idea.

Examples:

  • Person: teacher, Ali
  • Place: school, Karachi
  • Thing: book, pen
  • Idea: freedom, happiness
